1993
A famous actor, Rafał Nawrot (Daniel Olbrychski), arrives in a small town at the invitation of his former teacher, now the theater director (Wojciech Siemion), who wants to stage "Romeo and Juliet" featuring his famous student. Initially, Nawrot is irritated by the provincial atmosphere and plans to leave, but at the hotel, he is stopped by young Julia (Maria Seweryn), sent with flowers to welcome the actor. Julia, raised under strict conditions, breaks her parents' rules and flirts with Nawrot, abandoning her longtime boyfriend. The aging actor, a bit of a ham, pretends to be a young, romantic lover for her, leading to their first intimate encounter, after which Julia begins to see herself as a woman. However, their relationship is disrupted by the arrival of the actor’s long-time mistress (Ewa Kasprzyk), leaving Julia feeling betrayed and rejected. Nawrot tries to continue the affair, but watchful parents prevent any closer contact. His marriage proposal is taken as a joke by Julia’s parents, and the actor suffers a heart attack and leaves for a sanatorium. Julia visits him there to say goodbye, then rides away on a motorcycle with a peer.
