The Spiral

A middle-aged man arrives at the mountain lodge by Morskie Oko, stirring unease among the guests and the youth. He stays only briefly before setting out alone into the mountains. It turns out he is a patient who escaped from a psychiatric hospital. Tomasz (J. Nowicki) once enjoyed success, but his life was shattered by a serious illness. The chief physician (A. Bardini) monitors his reactions and behavior as the illness progresses. In his final days, he is accompanied by two fellow guests at the lodge: the widow of a climber (M. Komorowska) and a young philosophy student (A. Hudziak).
