The Shadow Line

Young sailor Joseph Conrad (M. Kondrat) takes command of an old ship set to sail from Bangkok to Singapore following the sudden death of the previous captain. The voyage quickly proves to be a test of character—the crew falls ill, medical supplies run low, and the ship frequently faces unpredictable weather. Facing hardships and dangers at sea, Conrad struggles not only with physical challenges but also with the shadow of his past and the responsibility for the lives under his command. The journey becomes a kind of inner transformation—a confrontation with his own fears and a choice about the path he wants to take in life. The film was produced as a Polish-British co-production, with a screenplay based on Conrad’s autobiographical memoirs.
