Artur, a middle-aged scientist, suddenly decides to live at the train station. Hotels, bars, and platforms become his new world, and everyday life takes on an absurd dimension observed by random passersby. Even his friends and doctors cannot comprehend his decision, and Artur’s personal life deteriorates; his wife grows closer to a journalist who sees an opportunity to tell Artur’s story for his own gain. Janusz Morgenstern’s film is based on John Wain’s novel *The Smaller Sky* (1967).
