The film tells the story of Antoni Gralak, a former prisoner who, after being released, tries to find his place in the world once again. With no support from his family or former fiancée, Gralak faces the challenge of building a new life from scratch. His attempts to rebuild ties with loved ones and society are met with indifference, leading him to feel alienated. After some time, Gralak finds work in construction and meets a woman who shows interest in him. It seems his life is beginning to take on meaning—new relationships and a job offer hope for a better future. However, even as his life stabilizes, he still cannot free himself from his past and the burden of guilt. The film portrays the protagonist’s struggle with his own identity and his efforts to find inner peace despite the youthful mistakes that continue to haunt him.
