"No One Is Calling" is a film by Kazimierz Kutz that combines dramatic, historical, and psychological elements, exploring the fate of a young Home Army soldier, Bożek (played by Henryk Boukołowski), who, after the end of World War II, decides to flee to the Recovered Territories in Lower Silesia. Bożek, a young man who has witnessed the brutality of war, refuses to carry out an order to kill a communist and chooses to escape, seeking shelter and hope for a new life amid ruins and destruction. The film portrays the hero's struggle with his wartime past, his desire to find peace and build a future, as well as his relationship with Lucyna (Zofia Marcinkowska), a girl he meets along the way. Though both are shy and cautious in building trust, a delicate feeling arises between them. Unfortunately, Bożek cannot escape his past—the underground organization he belongs to has already begun pursuing him, and his decision to disobey the order brings inevitable consequences. In this film, Kutz once again presents his distinctive narrative style, blending historical threads with the psychological depth of his characters.
