The film "The Last Day of Stalin" tells the story of the day Joseph Stalin dies, but from the perspective of ordinary people's everyday lives. On the day of the funeral, children play in one of the city’s courtyards, among them a little boy named Józek, who proudly wears medals belonging to his father, a distinguished communist activist. Despite the joy of playing, Józek is aware that he is supposed to attend the solemn funeral of Stalin that day. The film highlights the contrast between childish happiness and the tragic reality of the dictator’s death, emphasizing the absurdities and conformity of that era.
