Director: Michał Waszyński
1946
The film follows the fate of a pair of fiancés separated by war—from the siege of Lviv in 1939, through the formation of Anders’ Army in the USSR, their wandering through Iran, Iraq, Palestine, and Egypt, to the Italian campaign. Of particular value are the authentic documentary segments, including the Battle of Monte Cassino, during which Adam, one of the protagonists, is wounded.
