Director: Marek Piwowski
1976
In the Warsaw club "Maxim," the underworld gathers: corrupt managers, prostitutes, and thieves. Belus is planning a heist on the cash register of the Cooperative Department Store "Sesame" and first tests his crew with a staged robbery at a jeweler's. The militia, suspecting Belus, assigns a student with a fake high school diploma to his group, who at the crucial moment prevents the robbery. Marek Piwowski's crime film uses tension, minimal dialogue, and non-professional actors in the main roles. In the background, Budka Suflera appears, and comedic inserts reference the director's earlier documentaries.
