In July 1995, Kuba Mitura arrives at a concert with his young daughter Zuza and tells her a story from his youth. In 1988, as a rebellious teenager, he meets Diana, an older and eccentric woman. They fall in love, have a “hippie” wedding, but Kuba is drafted into the army. Diana gives birth to their daughter but dies during childbirth, and when Kuba returns, he discovers that his father is taking care of Zuza. The former rebel becomes a responsible father and a grown man. The film depicts the transition from youthful rebellion to maturity, blending humor and personal drama in a nostalgic coming-of-age story set in the Polish People's Republic.
