Director: Janusz Morgenstern
2000
The day before Christmas Eve, a middle-aged director tries to juggle all his holiday obligations: meetings with coworkers, his son, his ex-wife, and his current partner. With each additional glass of alcohol, it becomes increasingly difficult for him to keep it together—his behavior grows awkward, and the chaos in his mind intensifies. From his son, he receives a gift: a yellow scarf—yet another in a series of scarves that always seem to disappear. At home, he promises his partner he will stop drinking, but once again, he cannot keep his word. Unconscious, he ends up under his mother's care, and together they spend Christmas Eve in a truly festive, peaceful atmosphere. His mother gives him the yellow scarf—a symbol of protection against his greatest enemy. However, when he leaves, the scarf remains hanging on the rack… This is a warm and humorous, subtly tragicomic story about family, weaknesses, and the small miracles that happen in the most unexpected moments.
