The protagonist of the film is Rafał Wojaczek – a poet whom his contemporaries called the stuntman of literature. However, the creators do not attempt to recreate his biography step by step. Instead, they opt for a snapshot-like tale of the final moments of his rebellious, short life, in which words and everyday reality intertwined so closely that today it is difficult to separate them. The director does not reconstruct facts but evokes an atmosphere – a record of fleeting scenes, remembered gestures, images, and quoted statements that have contributed to the myth of Wojaczek. A poet for whom life was meant to resonate like a poem, and the poem was to be an extension of life, he himself helped shape this aura. The rest was added by those who knew or read him – moved by the intensity of his existence and its tragic end. The result is a portrait of the artist where reality and creation merge into one – a testimony of a man who consistently blurred the line between art and his own fate until he became a legend.
