A Happy Man

A mother and her adult son Janek live together in modest conditions, having never known prosperity. Although educated, Janek has not established a stable career and works odd jobs. When the mother learns that she has incurable lung cancer, she tries to hide the truth from her son. In turn, when Janek finds out about his mother’s illness, he tries to shield her from full awareness by asking the doctors to withhold the diagnosis. Between them begins a delicate, tension-filled game in which each tries to protect the other in their own way.
