Under the Phrygian Star

The film's plot consists of several episodes depicting the communists' struggle against the Sanation regime, such as the operation of a secret printing press, the unmasking of a provocateur—killed without authorization by Szczęsny—and mass street demonstrations ending in a brutal clash between striking workers and the police. In parallel, the love story between Szczęsny and the party activist Madzia unfolds. When the hero faces the threat of arrest, he decides to go to Spain to take part in the civil war.
