The film’s story takes place in the Tatra Mountains, where Zośka, a young girl, is in love with Jasiek. However, Jasiek, despite her feelings, dreams of Hanka, who returns to her home village after finishing school. Hanka is in love with Andrzej, a handsome mountain guide, and does not return Jasiek’s affection. One day, Hanka and Andrzej go on a mountain hike together, where an avalanche buries them. Jasiek sets out to help and finds Andrzej, but they are unable to find Hanka. After unsuccessful searches by the mountain rescue team (GOPR), Andrzej sets off alone to rescue his beloved. With Zośka’s help, who finds Andrzej unconscious, she manages to bring him to her home, where it turns out Hanka is safe and sound. The two find each other again and embrace. Jasiek, realizing he will never win Hanka’s love, decides to embark on a solitary journey through the mountains, seeking solace among the Tatra peaks and coming to terms with his loneliness.
