During the Warsaw occupation, a group of teenage heroes decides to take action against the German authorities. Alek, a young rickshaw driver, together with his friends Rudy and Zośka, secretly carries out small but symbolic acts of resistance against the occupiers: they change flags, destroy German symbols, and even interfere with propaganda films, which show only the German vision of reality. The Germans react quickly – the Gestapo hunts down the young rebels, and one of their friends is arrested and taken away for interrogation. Alek and his comrades do not give up. Under the leadership of an older guardian of the underground group, they undertake risky attempts to free their friend, planning an operation in the heart of the city, where every step could cost them their lives. The film depicts the determination and courage of young people in the brutal reality of occupied Warsaw, their ingenuity, cunning, and loyalty to their friends, as well as the harsh choices war forces upon children growing up under extreme conditions.
