Adam Miauczyński, a former director of erotic films, lies in the morgue. Memories from a life full of failures and setbacks flash through the deceased’s mind. His parents had wanted a girl, and his mother dressed him in dresses. As an adult, he pursued film directing, hoping for fame, women, wealth, and luxury. Instead, he had to face daily struggles like a broken-down car and professional disappointments. He was fired from four films, and his dreams of great success proved to be an illusion. He lives in a city he hates, and his marriage fell apart because his wife wants to marry a foreigner. He always feels like second best, even when he becomes a director, and working on set drives him into hysteria and depression. His life, full of constant disappointment and bad luck, ends tragically.
