My Nikifor

Nikifor (played by Krystyna Feldman) is an outstanding naive painter who struggled with the hardships of life since childhood. Lonely, ill, and living in modest conditions in Krynica, Nikifor depicts a world in his art that is both incredibly simple and deeply symbolic. The artist was unfamiliar with classical painting techniques, but his works were full of emotion and personal, uninhibited expression. The film also follows the story of Marian Włosiński, a man who took care of Nikifor between 1960 and 1968. Initially, Włosiński treated Nikifor as a client, but over time a deep bond developed between them.
