A light comedy of errors set in the suburban Warsaw Institute for Girls’ Further Education. Helenka, the daughter of a wealthy industrialist and owner of a cosmetics factory, meets Stefan – the nephew of the music professor employed at the same school. A chance incident at the pier results in the young man, after swimming in the lake, ending up at his uncle’s apartment where, to avoid trouble, he introduces himself as “Roxy.” By coincidence, “Roxy” is also the name of a cologne from a competing company owned by Helenka’s father. The industrialist, convinced he is dealing with a rival’s agent, sparks off a series of amusing misunderstandings. The situation becomes more complicated with the arrival of Stefan’s former acquaintance, Lili, and the involvement of Professor Frankiewicz in the intrigue, putting his teaching reputation to the test. In the end, all misunderstandings are happily resolved, and a melody composed by Stefan for Helenka becomes the key not only to her heart but also to success – it enables the girl’s father to remember the formula for a new, revolutionary soap.
