A minimalist, psychological study of two people who meet on a deserted beach. He is a young man, she is a mature woman, both bearing the weight of personal tragedies and the trauma of war. Despite their mutual need for closeness, they are unable to communicate with each other. Their attempts to connect end in failure, and physical proximity does not break down their psychological barriers. The film is extremely static, relying mainly on conversations and silence, with minimal action, portraying the drama of loneliness, alienation, and the impossibility of forming a genuine bond. Jet fighters flying overhead serve as a reminder of the nightmare of war that continues to haunt them.
