Nikodem Dyzma, a modest employee of a small funeral home and a master of funeral ceremonies, does not dream of great achievements—his only goal is to earn enough to buy a liquor fridge. Everything changes when he accidentally gets an invitation to an elegant diplomatic cocktail party. After being spilled on by a clumsy guest, he erupts in anger and uses strong language. This seemingly minor incident sets off a chain of events that propel Dyzma upward into the world of high society. This film, full of humor and absurdity, tells the story of an unexpected rise in a reality where appearances and chance determine the fate of the protagonist.
