The film presents three stories that reveal unconventional attitudes toward war and its absurdities. "Cross" tells the story of Frank Socha, who, returning to his destroyed village after the war, discovers that a medal for courage does not bring him a sense of fulfillment—the war has destroyed his life and values. "Dog" is the story of a dog that, despite being taken in by Polish soldiers, becomes a symbol of difficult moral choices when it reacts aggressively to freed prisoners, leaving the soldiers uncertain about what to do with it. "The Widow of Joczys" portrays a young woman who, after the war, refuses to live in the shadow of her husband's martyr-hero legend and strives to build her own life despite the local community's resistance. Each story is about people trying to find their place after the war, struggling with its legacy and societal expectations.
