Witek (T. Bradecki), a young technical school graduate and climbing enthusiast, faces a career choice after completing his military service – he has the opportunity to work for a company that organizes exhibitions. Business trips, starting with India, open up the world to him, but he quickly discovers that dishonest financial practices are occurring within the company, involving his superiors and colleagues. He refuses to take part in the fraud and tries to uphold honesty, but finds that confronting the system is difficult. When his mother is hospitalized, he also uncovers problems in the healthcare system. Seeking meaning and peace, he considers further study and research work as a way of life aligned with his own values, away from moral compromises and everyday manipulations.
