Katyn

A war drama that tells the story of Andrzej, a cavalry captain of the 8th Uhlan Regiment, during World War II. When the Red Army advances into Poland, Andrzej is taken prisoner, and his wife, Anna, with their young daughter Nika, embarks on a perilous journey to find him. Upon reaching Kraków, which is under German occupation, Anna finds herself in a difficult position — her husband is deported to the camp in Kozelsk, and she is swept into the dramatic whirl of war, left alone and anxious about his fate. After being taken to the Kozelsk camp, Andrzej, despite having the chance to escape, refuses and chooses to remain faithful to his military oath. Despite the horrifying news of the mass graves of Polish officers discovered in Katyn, Anna refuses to believe that Andrzej is among the victims. Her perseverance and hope become crucial in the fight for truth amid the chaos of war and official lies. The film shows how, in the face of brutal war and moral dilemmas, people continually struggle to uphold their dignity and true values.
