"Decalogue II" is a film about moral dilemmas that force the characters to make decisions with irreversible consequences. The hospital chief, an elderly, solitary man, leads a calm, stable life far removed from dramatic events. However, his world is brutally shaken when he faces an extremely difficult task: he must decide the fate of Dorota's unborn child, a young violinist whose husband lies in the hospital in critical condition. Dorota is pregnant by another man, while her husband — the chief’s patient — is fighting for his life. The chief, who knows both the man and Dorota, must confront a challenging choice that intertwines life, death, and responsibility. This situation places him in a moral conflict—he must decide whether to take actions that will affect the life of the child whose fate rests in his hands.
