History of Cinema in Popielawy

The saga of the Andryszek family begins with Józef Andryszek, known as the First, who in the 19th century built a cinema machine—an invention that preceded the Lumière brothers. Across generations, this story unfolds through the lives of successive family members, culminating in the 1960s when Józef Andryszek the Sixth, called Szustek, dreams of recreating his ancestor’s invention. The film is a humorous and nostalgic tale about family traditions, passions, and dreams passed down through the generations. It also serves as a reflection on invention, ambition, and the challenges people face as they strive to revive grand ideas of the past.
