Industrialist Widmar (M. Dmochowski) learns from an old lover that his wife Rebeka (E. Krzyżewska) may be cheating on him with the family doctor, a close friend. He comes into possession of a diary that reveals the woman’s life and the rumors circulating about her. Consumed by jealousy, a sense of humiliation, and uncertainty, he hires a Jewish tailor, Gold (W. Boruński), to follow his wife, promising him help in emigrating to America in return. Rebeka remains an enigma—she fascinates and provokes men, and only she knows her true intentions. The entire love story is told from the perspective of the involved men, with the continuously blowing wind heightening the tension. The film, an adaptation of Michał Choromański’s novel, is a story of passion, betrayal, and hidden motives that shape the fate of its characters.
