A comedy that combines absurd situations with a reflection on the social reality of the Polish People's Republic. The film's action takes place at night, when a young girl, Ewa, arriving in town for the start of the school year, cannot find accommodation. Everything begins when she is turned away by the janitor, who refuses her entry to the dormitory, forcing her to wander the town. Her attempt to find a place to stay becomes a pretext to showcase the absurdities of everyday life, where the real world blends with the fantastic. Ewa encounters Piotr, a policeman who tries to help her through this strange, eventful night full of unexpected incidents. Meanwhile, colorful characters such as thieves, caravan drivers, and prostitutes appear, injecting elements of comedy and grotesque into the story.
