At a remote timber transport base in the Bieszczady Mountains, convicts and societal misfits work, struggling against harsh conditions and life-threatening dangers. The mechanic and party activist Zabawa arrives at the base, attempting to rally the workers, while his wife searches for a way to escape. The film depicts the individual's fight against a hopeless daily existence and the absurdity of life, where only the most resilient or ruthless survive.
