Henryk (Wieńczysław Gliński), a respected lawyer, spends his vacation in Sopot with his young son. His peaceful life as a husband and father is suddenly shaken when he receives a summons from the prosecutor’s office, accusing him of collaboration with the Gestapo during the occupation. Although he convinces his wife (Barbara Horawianka) and the investigators that he harmed no one, his former victim is dead, and the witnesses’ memories are unreliable. Memories of the brutal interrogation and imprisonment return with shocking force, despite his attempts to escape into the present—into space, earthquakes. Ultimately, Henryk is left alone, rejected by everyone, and collapses by the side of the railway tracks.
