A contemporary tragic love story set in a rural village, telling a tale of betrayal, broken promises, and the dramatic consequences of love. Bronka, who has a limp and is the daughter of a cooperative activist and party official, becomes the object of Staszek's attention. Staszek has been abandoned by his former lover Ulka, who chose the local teacher instead. He seduces Bronka and promises her a life together, while also urging her to convince her father to leave the cooperative and reclaim land for their own farm. Her father hesitates for a long time but, against his own beliefs, decides to take this step out of love for his daughter. Meanwhile, the teacher leaves the village, and Ulka returns to Staszek. The man abandons Bronka and breaks his promise to her. Desperate, Bronka kills her unfaithful lover, and her father takes the blame for the crime, hoping to save his daughter from responsibility.
