Lucyna, the intelligent and enterprising daughter of a wealthy industrialist, returns to her homeland after studying engineering abroad. Unfortunately, her father opposes her career plans, believing that a young lady from such a family should not work as an engineer. Undeterred, Lucyna comes up with a cunning idea—she disguises herself as a man and, under the false name Julka Kwiatkowska, lands a job as a technician assistant to engineer Stefan Żarnowski. Although she initially focuses on gaining technical knowledge, her true interest centers on her boss. As Julka, Lucyna enters the world of Stefan’s bachelor escapades, engaging in humorous adventures while trying to get close to him and simultaneously attempting to discourage him from his fiancée, Tuna. The climax comes after one of their late-night outings at a club, when Lucyna visits Żarnowski’s apartment, pretending to be the sister of Julian Kwiatkowski, hoping to learn the whereabouts of her “brother,” who disappeared the day before. Her beauty, intelligence, and charisma make a strong impression on Stefan. The finale delivers a comedic and romantic resolution—Stefan discovers that Miss Kwiatkowska and Lucyna are the same person. Initially offended at being deceived, he ultimately succumbs to the power of his feelings, and the two protagonists find their way to happiness together, leaving behind conventions and facades.
