A group of young people spend New Year's Eve 1968 in the mountains, hoping for a good time, but it soon marks the beginning of their political awakening. They start to see how complex and tense the power dynamics are that their fathers face every day. The daughter of an old communist becomes involved in student protests, becoming an icon of youth rebellion. The film portrays the first steps of the younger generation in the political world of the Polish People's Republic, showing their clash with reality and their attempt to find their own path in difficult times.
