Abflug

In Masuria, in a care home, mother and daughter Augusta and Hilda live together. Both are Masurians, but their identities differ: Hilda feels Polish, Augusta increasingly German. Among the other residents, they face hostility, and an old acquaintance, Gozdek, never misses an opportunity to humiliate them. Hilda's only friend is the young disabled Mirek, who is learning German from her. One day, Augusta decides to return to the family home. Hilda, convinced it is just another whim, eventually gives in, and together they set off on a journey meant to bring them peace and reconciliation with the past.
